Einer zehntägigen Maischegärung ging eine viertägige Kaltmazeration voraus. Mit der Nachmazeration wurden die letzten Farbpigmente vor der Pressung aus den Beerenhäuten gelöst. Die Reifung des Weines erfolgte für 15 Monate im Barriquefass (1.-2. Belegung) selektionierter französischer Eiche.

 

Der Jahrgang 2018 ist einer der ganz heißen trockenen Sommer und von sehr kleinen Erträgen gekennzeichnet. Die Beeren sind sehr klein, sehr intensiv im Aroma, mit viel Farbeinlagerung und perfekter Reife bei der Ernte.
Durch den geringen Ertrag wird ein Maximum an Konzentration schon im Weinberg erreicht.
